Vegetation Management Plans

After a comprehensive installation-wide perennial non-native plant mapping effort, ACS compiled the results into a perennial weed management plan. After identifying a priority list of perennial non-native plants, a grid system was developed for the installation. Over weeks, ACS biologists visited every grid on the installation and recorded species, cover, and phenology data for each found prioritized species.

Vegetation Management Plans

San Nicolas Island partnered with ACS Habitat Management to compile decades of historic non-native plant treatment data and compile an island-wide comprehensive weed management plan. This plan has been used for many years and guides weed management decisions and efforts on the island. It has been used to successfully control multiple species on the island.
